Mindfulness gives us the ability to stay calm and present, to gently and wisely transform our difficult experiences into understanding. This workshop aims to introduce participants to the concepts of mindfulness, look at the benefits of mindfulness and to explore how it might be introduced into everyday life as well as the classroom. This six-week course will introduce you to the concept of mindfulness and how to apply it for personal wellbeing. Each session runs for 2 hours.
“As the coordinator for the professional development workshop I found the content of the workshop to be informative, engaging and relevant to the early childhood and primary school sectors. The content of being mindful of how we interact on a daily level and thus how we interact with our students and peers links with our reflective practice to our teaching, philosophy, curriculum and national frameworks. It allowed us to think about what it is to be in the moment and not to judge, with the constant busy thoughts that can cloud our vision of teaching. The verbal feedback of the workshop from the participants was positive and thought provoking. The presenter engaged with the audience using every day experiences to relate the content and demonstrated an understanding of the sector. I would like to thank Pathways to Resilience Trust for this opportunity and we will use them for our future events.”
