Our Board of Trustees


The Pathways to Resilience Trust Fund is administered by a Board of Trustees. Members of the Board share a passion for building resilient communities and families. Each Trustees brings their own unique skills and expertise to the administration of the Trust.


Peter Flynn, Chairman


Peter is the Chairman of KenLynn Properties Australia Pty Ltd. Having been a property developer both in Brisbane and interstate. He has had many and varied business interests and major share holdings of public companies. He is currently involved in the hospitality industry with a portfolio of hotels including the Novotel Brisbane Airport. Up until very recently, Peter Flynn was Vice Chairman of the school board at St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace together with being on the board of the Mackillop Foundation and many other catholic charities. He has had a long time interest in the mental health of adolescents and has formed his own public charity to assist these vulnerable children.


Mark Bell

Bachelor of Arts (Oxford), Master of Business Administration (Harvard), Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

mark_bellUntil recently, Mark was director of the management consulting practice of Hatch in Australia. He has consulted widely to the mining and metals industries and the infrastructure and utilities sectors since the mid 1990’s, specialising in helping senior managers with issues of strategy and value creation. Prior to Hatch, Mark was a senior executive in the chemical industry and in industrial services. He brings over 20 years of professional experience advising boards and senior executives on corporate development and marketing. NFP involvement includes 2013 – 15 President of St Aidan’s AGS Parents and Friends Association, Inc.



 Eugene Esmonde

Bachelor of Economics

eugene_esmondeEugene is Managing Director of the Sharpe Group of Companies’, a family group involved in Retailing, Property and Share Investment in Queensland. Eugene has had over 30 years’ experience in the Hardware Retail Industry and was a State and National Director of the Mitre 10 Group for over 25 years. Within the industry his interest and focus has been on Finance, Administration and training. Eugene was a member of Rotary for 15 years and has been a volunteer for the Smith Family Charity.



Paul Leitch

Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Education, Diploma of School Counselling, Master of Education

paul_leitchPaul Leitch is currently a Principal at Nous Group and leader of Nous’ Brisbane office and Financial Services sector. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Adviser to the Chief Executive and the Chairman for QIC. Paul has also worked in the public and private sectors in a range of senior executive roles encompassing human resources, business operations, management consulting and organisational strategy. He is an independent director on a Queensland family company. He is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Paul has a long held professional and personal interest in the education and mental health of children and adolescents.


Elizabeth Nankivell

Master of Professional Communications, Bachelor of Science (Marine)

elizabeth_nElizabeth is an outstanding communications professional, who has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and also auditing. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course and a qualified Justice of the Peace in Queensland. Elizabeth is a passionate individual and keen to contribute her expertise at the Board table. She is also a member of Australian Institute of Management and a member of Women on Boards.



Susanne Wilkie

B.A. Dip. Psych

Susanne is a psychologist in private practice with over 35 years practice experience in clinical settings. She is currently President of the Association of Private Practising Psychologists in Queensland and the President of the national private practice organisation, Psychology Private Australia. She has had extensive Board experience as a member of the Queensland Psychology Registration Board.
